Q1: What is
KingCode?
Answer: KingCode is the leading online resource and
reference tool for program developers. KingCode allows a
developer to find information relevant to his or her project
quickly. KingCode staff have spent hundreds of hours creating
and developing a powerful database-driven information
warehouse of programming resources broken down by programming
language.
The current programming languages
supported are: C++, DHTML, HTML, Java and Java JDK,
JavaScript, Perl and Rebol.

Q2: What is the best way to
search for something?
Answer: In short, just type in exactly what you're looking
for. Most of the resources that are indexed on KingCode are
references for programming language. This means that
entering in a library or function name in question would be the
best option. For more details, please go to Search
Tips.

Q3: What if I can't find what I'm
looking for?
Answer: If you perform a search and can not
find any search results, try reducing the number of words in
your search term. Focus on the key search terms. If the KingCode
search engine has not found what you were looking for, then head
over to the programming language's link (found on the top of
each page and in the category column on the left hand side of
the KingCode home page) and visit one of the various resource
links provided on the right hand side.
If you ever find a
valuable information resource/web-site that you think should be
a part of the KingCode searchable resource database, please submit
a suggestion with this quick form.

Q4: How do I get my web site
listed on King Code?
Answer: There are currently two ways that your web site can
be used on KingCode. The first is as a resource link on
the specific language page. This is very straight-forward.
However, KingCode carefully examines each web site URL
submission/suggestion from top to bottom. The criteria that must
be met can be found on the Add/Suggest
Page link.
The second way your
web site can be used on KingCode is to be spidered into the
specific language index. So, for instance, if you have a web
site dedicated to the language JavaScript, and you believe that
your web site has valuable and well-organized information, it
may be a candidate! This means that whenever a KingCode user
searches for terms in the JavaScript language category, your web
site content will be searched and results returned. Obviously,
this is a fantastic way for your site to gain traffic and
popularity; however, note that KingCode is just as, if not more
stringent when it comes to screening possible site candidates
for addition to the search index. You can read more about
this on the Add/Suggest
Page link as well.

Q5: Where can I find a good book
about programming, or a book about a specific programming
language?
Answer: We will try our best to recommend books for various
levels of programming knowledge. However, the best way to find
books is by using our Barnes and Noble book search engine (which
gives you millions of titles at your fingertips at great prices)
or by clicking on any of our book title/review links throughout
KingCode.

Q6: Which resources does KingCode currently index for each
language?
Answer: The pool of resources/web-sites that KingCode
indexes for each programming language is changing constantly for
various reasons. If you have a suggestion for a new web
site resource that should be included into a language index,
please visit the Add/Suggest
Page.

Q7: What is an index?
Answer: An index is a component of a database that allows
you to search quickly and accurately through large amounts of
data. For instance, when you search for a word such as array
within the C++ resource database index,
KingCode already has the data organized by keyword allowing for
a quick retrieval of matching search results.
